Why Do Adults Use Emojis Differently Than Young People Do?

It is important to note that different people use emojis in different ways. Some of us use emojis to communicate, while others use them as a clever way to ask others to drop what they are doing and come and play with us. Some of us use emojis to make people feel better about themselves, while others use them to make people feel less better. 

The answer to the question of why adults use emojis different than young people is surprisingly simple. For those under 30, they are the way of electronically express emotions with emoticons while for those over 30, emojis are sometimes used to display political views. The same study also found that men use emojis more often than women, while younger people use emojis more often than older people.

When you think of emojis, the first that come to mind may be the smiley faces. But there are many other emoticons that are used more often by younger people. These include the thumbs-up sign, the peace sign, the heart and even the poop emoji.
